Because of some members’ lack of comfort with git, we chose not to use it for version control for collaborative development work. But because of WordPress’s constraints on the number of people who can work simultaneously on a PHP file on WordPress and its lack of version control functionality, it was difficult to do collaborative work on a single PHP file.
Solution:
We came up with a rudimentary way to track versions by creating backup file versions of code before starting to modify it. Backups are stored on our shared Google Drive
